This post is coming to you live …. from my bed. Where I’m snuggling under the covers, feeling a little under the weather. But that’s what fall is though right? Sweater weather with a side of the sniffles and a sore throat. Fingers crossed I’ll be better in the next few days, but in the mean time let’s talk about fall trends I’m currently obsessed with. Ask any girl around, and she’ll tell you that fall is our time to freakin shine. We rock sweater weather the best when it’s coupled with a pumpkin spice latte. I know it’s getting a little chiller here in Canada, but these items definitely can act as transitional pieces for winter.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve probably noticed a plethora of plaid this season. Pants, skirts, jackets, blazers – if you can wear it on your body, there’s a good chance someone somewhere has made a version of it in plaid. One that I’ve been obsessed with is this little number from Zara, making all my college professor dreams come true. Paired with denim, this piece can easily transition from day to night and also works v well for office wear – just throw it on over a dress and you’re good to go.
If you know me at alllllll, you know that I typically like my pieces neutral, and rarely wear any colour. This season is red is EVERYWHERE, and so I couldn’t resist adding a little red to my wardrobe. The easiest way to do this is to keep the rest of your outfit simple and add a pop of red. I’m really diggin’ red booties this season, and just might pick myself up a pair on Black Friday, anyone else?
When the leaves are falling, or it’s raining outside don’t you just want to throw on a chunky sweater? Those of you who don’t – try it. Trust me, it’ll make fall entirely your favourite season. Even better? When the chunky knit comes in the form of a turtleneck dress. As usual, I picked this one up from Zara, but you can find them everywhere. Plus with the holidays right around the corner, they make the perfect outfit for any occasion.
What are your favourite trends for fall?
