I love road trips. And not only because I never drive and have the luxury of falling asleep for 90% of the ride. What’s so great about them, you ask? Night driving. Car games. Stopping for snacks and people watching. New music to listen to. And finally (but most importantly), the excitement of the arriving at your final destination.
The creator of poutine, infamous bagels, and Parisian looking streets, Montreal is one of a kind city known for its French-English mix. My boyfriend and I took a quick road trip up to MTL two weekends ago to visit his family, and it was a nice little escape. My parents are also originally from Montreal, so I used to go all the time as a kid, and loved it! We did spend a lot of time with Tylor’s family (they’re awesome), but we squeezed in a few touristy things too.
We had brunch, wandered around downtown Montreal, and found a delicious pizza place for dinner. Then we stopped by a bagel spot to stock up on those famous MTL bagels (my mom is obsessed!), and of course grabbed a couple of coffees. We also went up to Mont Royal (a mountain which the city is named after) and got a chance to see some of the coolest views of the city: old Montreal + McGill University. Although I was only there for two days, I have to say Montreal is an amazing city, full of good food and culture, and I’ll definitely be back to visit soon.
