Ah, the Golden State, known for its babes and beaches. Land of 90210, the Hollywood sign, city of angels, and delightfully sunny weather. California is one of my all time favorite places to visit, and I get extremely giddy when planning a trip to L.A, every time.
This year I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to California for his birthday (because I like, love him and ‘whatever’ + he had never been before). My sister and her boyfriend joined us as well, and we had a grand ol’ time as a traveling foursome. I have family members who are lucky enough to reside in Anaheim, so we decided to stay with them and rent a Jeep to explore the rest of L.A. The boys were primary drivers of the car and swore soon after that their next car would be a Jeep of some sort. Direct quote after arriving back in Toronto: ‘Teresa, I miss my Jeep’ – Tylor.
On my previous trips, I did not have as much of an opportunity to explore, so we took full advantage this trip. Los Angeles is massive, and I can honestly say that I would need to stay for a full month in order to see everything on my list. However, we did manage to cross off a lot this time. In-N-Out, LACMA, Laguna, The Grove, Umami Burger and Santa Monica were all checked off. We even drove to Vegas for a night (I somehow managed to catch a really disgusting cold, so I could not enjoy it to it’s full potential – though I still had fun in my drug-induced state).
California has a laid back, relaxed atmosphere, but is also full of wonder and excitement – the perfect combo. Every time I visit, I promise myself that one day, I too will be a California. Until then, I reminisce about my trip via these photos.
